The Seminar of Advancing Health and Wellbeing in the Changing Urban Environment: Implementing a Systems Approach

The IAP for Health, formerly InterAcademy Medical Panel (IAMP) triennial Scientific Conference and General Assembly will be held in Beijing China on 27 – 29 September 2016.The conference and GA are hosted by the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The events will be organized in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences/Peking Union Medical College.

All member academies of the IAPartnership are invited to attend the conference while only members of  IAP for Health are invited to attend the GA. The conference topic this year is 'Promoting Health'. A Scientific Committee has been convened following nomination from member academies and is working on the agenda and list of speakers.

Franz W. Gatzweiler, the executive director of the ICSU-IAP-UNU sponsored global programme on ‘Urban Health and Wellbeing: a Systems Approach’, will give the seminar named "Advancing Health and Wellbeing in the Changing Urban Environment. Implementing a Systems Approach”. In this seminar, Gatzweiler describes the process which has led to ICSU’s global interdisciplinary science programme and the components of a conceptual and theoretical framework which guide action towards the goal of improving health and wellbeing in urban environments.
