WHO Estimates of the Global Burden of Foodborne Diseases

WHO estimates illness and death from diseases caused by contaminated food which is an increasing impediment to public health and wellbeing in urban environment. WHO estimates the incidence, mortality, and disease burden caused by 31 foodborne hazards and the outcomes of improvements in food safety throughout the food chain by incorporating these estimates into policy development at national and international levels.
